Outreach Ministries
Legion of Mary
The Legion of Mary is a worldwide lay Catholic organization composed of men, women, and youth. It has been in existence since 1921 and can be found in over 170 countries! Since its inception, it has been approved by every Pope. Members of the Legion of Mary become instruments of the Holy Spirit through a balanced program of prayer and service.
Works include door-to-door evangelization, parishioner visits, prison ministry, visits to the sick or aged, crowd contact, religious education, visiting the newly baptized, Pilgrim Virgin statue rotation, and otherwise meeting the spiritual needs of the parish community.
The Legion of Mary is open to all practicing Catholics that are willing to adhere to the Legion system. The Legion of Mary holds weekly meetings here at St. Clare of Assisi on Tuesdays at 11:30am in the Parish Hall.
Please contact Dillon Marto at 480-341-4896 for more information.
We also have a Junior Legion of Mary that is for the youth! Presently, our Junior group here at St. Clare of Assisi consists of families who homeschool. We meet on Wednesdays at 10:30am in the Parish Hall. Our objective is for them to grow spiritually by putting their faith into practice through our weekly meetings and through a variety of undertakings and works. We have had, in the past, a Junior Legion of Mary group for public school children and, if there is enough interest, we would like to take action to bring that to fruition as well!
If you would like more information regarding the Junior Legion of Mary, please contact Carla Wrublik at 602-818-4895.
St. Martha's Meals
Are you or your spouse having surgery or are you recovering from a hospital stay and can’t cook? Recovering from an illness? Are you pregnant or recently postpartum? St. Martha’s Meals is here to help!
St. Martha, who was one of Jesus’ closest friends, is the patron saint of hospitality, cooks, homemakers, and domestic workers. Those who volunteer to cook for St. Martha’s Meals incorporate their love of Jesus, friend, and neighbor, just as St. Martha did, and deliver meals to parishioners of St. Clare of Assisi who are unable to cook!
